Who are we?

Formed in 1981, our club is around 100 members strong, comprising Adults and Juniors, ranging from beginners to leisure hobbyist, through to Tournament level archers - attending events that include National and International competitions.

Our members enjoy a mixture of bow styles and disciplines including Recurve and Compound. We also have a growing number of members keeping old traditions alive, who can be seen regularly shooting the Longbow, Flatbow and a variety of other East European/Asian designs.

We shoot at two locations in Hampshire on the edge of the New Forest:

  • Outdoor range, near Exbury Gardens - a spectacular 200-acre woodland garden, famous for the Rothschild Collection of Plants.

  • Indoor range, at Hounsdown School - used during the winter season to shoot bespoke indoor rounds.

With this amount of diversity, there really is something for everyone to have a look at or try out.

Do you own any unused Archery equipment...Willing to donate?

Whether gathering dust, propping up a wall, shoved under the bed...?
If it is of serviceable quality then please drop us a line. It will be put to good use by the club and could assist the development of our beginners.

Ever thought of trying Archery?

Archery is truly a sport for everyone (minimum age for juniors is eight) and all applications are welcome to join the next available Beginners Course. These are run by the club's 'GNAS' qualified coaches on various dates during the year, or as demand requires.

The series of classes concentrates on the fundamentals of Archery including essential range and safety rules, and is taught using Recurve equipment. The Beginners Course is appropriate for those who have never shot a bow, or those with some previous experience that are seeking a refresher session.

LATEST:

  • Next Beginners Course is to be confirmed (Aug/Sep).
  • Look out for the 'Big Weekend' and 'Joined In' events.

For more information and/or an 'application form', please send us an email via the 'Club Information Officer' and we'll respond as soon as we can.

How about a Corporate Day?

Or, if thinking more in terms of a team-building event, why not 'enquire' about our Corporate Days and we'll devise a package to suit your needs.
